AVG 8.0 CTF File Error

I received the error “Invalid Update Control CTF File” some time back and here’s how I resolved it.

You Will have to remove ONLY the CTF temp files from your C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Avg8\update\download. These are the files with the .ctf extension. If you remove the .bin files, you will have to run updates afresh as though you had just installed the software for the first time.
