Digital Economy Act 2010 – Like WTF

In my honest most humble opinion, the so called “super powers” of this world have fucked up and are now letting the shit flow downstream to the little people…us. What am I talking about? Well here goes…

  1. The US decides that they should stick their noses in the Israeli/Palestinian squabbles
  2. they then find themselves taking a one-sided approach which leave the Arab community really pissed off
  3. tensions spread to neighbouring Arab countries that now decide to take action
  4. the US quietly notices it’s fuckup then quickly decides to pull the UN and NATO into the mix (bigger fuckup)
  5. Whilst all this is happening, there is a genocide happening in Burundi, and wars in the Sudan and Somalia

**Just a quick FYI: the war between Israel and Palestine has been going on since 1917.

So now what happens…us the citizens of our respective countries get expected to sit back while acts like the Patriot Act (US) and the Digital Economy Act (UK) get passed. I know I know, you are seated there reading this saying, but you are in South Africa/Kenya/India…etc, and you are not affected by this. But no, ofcourse we are affected by this. We are affected by anything, a super power does outside and inside it’s borders. Be it economy-wise, or even travel-wise. Other countries look up to these super powers and thus try and adapt their ways coz they assume that it’s what makes them so powerful. We now end up having our emails, cell phone conversations, and internet chats monitored for anything that could harm or endanger people. But why? Well it’s coz some idiots decided to poke a fire and make enemies.

As we all know, rules that sometimes do injustice to a people always find themselves doing more harm. People stop banking their money, stop using the computers other than for work, forge registrations and avoid places that collect personal information. We have hackers that now steal identities just so that they can move around more freely…it’s really getting out of hand. And as one person told me, “If you throw computers at a problem, you just create a faster problem”.

All this technology being implemented now for stringent measures isn’t the solution but rather creates a more blinding problem. Body of Lies quote “…they adapt and respond accordingly.” “Our enemy has realized that they are fighting guys from the future. Now, ahem, it is as brilliant as it is infuriating. If you live like it’s the past, and you behave like it’s the past then guys from the future find it very hard to see you. If you throw away your cell phone, shut down your e-mail pass all your instructions face-to-face, hand-to-hand turn your back on technology and just disappear into the crowd No flags. No uniforms. You got your basic grunts on the ground there. They’re looking going, “Who is it we’re fighting?” In a situation like this, your friends dress just like your enemies and your enemies dress like your friends.”

Ponder on that…
